O&P Assistant

Once you have met the eligibility requirements for the desired discipline, submit your application(s) online.

You will need the following documentation, which can uploaded to your online dashboard once you start the application process or you can email certification@abcop.org.

Pathway 1:

Pathway 2 & 3:

  • A copy of your high school diploma, GED certificate, college transcript or World Education Service (WES) Credential Evaluation (only applicable if you received your education in a foreign country)
  • College transcript showing completion of three semester hours in ​​​Human Anatomy, ​​​​​General/Fundamental Physics, and ​​​Medical Terminology.
  • Your completed Assistant Competency Attestation form signed by a supervising certified/licensed practitioner in the discipline in which you are applying. You must submit a competency attestation form when applying for each certification exam.
  • For Pathway 3: A copy of your current certification or license from a related allied health profession

You must make an attempt at the exam within one calendar year of your application approval date.​ For more information regarding the application and the exam process, please refer to the Assistant Candidate Guide.
