ABC Congratulates 2023 O&P Scholarship Recipients

In proud partnership with the Orthotics and Prosthetics Foundation for Education and Research (The O&P Foundation), we are pleased to announce and congratulate the recipients of the 2023 ABC Orthotist & Prosthetist Scholarships and Scholarships for O&P Diversity.

The ABC Orthotist & Prosthetist Scholarships support the continued academic success of 10 qualified O&P students, and the ABC Scholarships for O&P Diversity support the academic success of four racially or ethnically underrepresented students in the O&P profession each year. Each recipient is awarded a $10,000 scholarship.

“The American Board for Certification is honored to participate in the Orthotic and Prosthetic scholarship program, helping to give back to the community we serve,” remarked ABC Board President Rick Babcock, CO. “The Board would like to thank all those who have worked tirelessly to make this program successful and look forward to many years of continued support.”

Fifty-one students applied for the ABC Orthotist & Prosthetist Scholarship, and 15 students applied for the ABC Scholarship for O&P Diversity.

"For the second consecutive year, these scholarships have generated applications from an impressive group of students," said Donald Katz, MHA, CO/L, co-chair of The O&P Foundation's board of directors. "The O&P Foundation's board of directors is grateful to all who served as reviewers for this year's submissions. Their dedication to the review process is recognized and greatly appreciated."
