Following very productive conversations at the ABC-sponsored Academy’s State of the Science Conference (SSC) in August 2024, the ABC Scope of Practice Committee met to further discuss and consider the prosthetist’s role in adjusting components related to OI implants.  The committee recommended revisions to ABC’s Statement on the Role of Certified Prosthetists with Bone-Anchored Prostheses (Osseointegration/OI) to contemporize the document and provide additional guidance for ABC certified prosthetists. The revisions were approved by the ABC Board of Directors last month and are effective immediately. View the revised statement here.
