Volunteers are a big part of ABC’s 75-year history. Starting with the group that founded ABC and continuing to the creation of the certification exams as we know them today, the robust accreditation program as well as the continuing education program. Volunteers are and have always been instrumental in supporting the mission and vision of ABC.
In recognition of all our wonderful volunteers, we recently created special volunteer digital badges. We hope all volunteers will proudly display their new badge in their email signature, company website and LinkedIn profile. If you’re an ABC volunteer and didn’t receive an email to claim your badge, please contact us. We are proud to have so many dedicated volunteers and hope that you will be just as proud to show how you’ve made a difference.
There has been a lot of activity in the last few months with the Career Awareness Initiative. We continue to add Ambassadors around the country, with almost 100 students, practitioners, educators and researchers joining the effort. We would love to have you join us too!
Most recently, we have started the launch of a community pilot program to reach potential future POP professionals in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Detroit. Look for more information in the coming months on this exciting new program.
Utilize our Free Resources–Our online toolkit features numerous ways to engage students in your community. These FREE materials include an informational flyer,a sample/editable PowerPoint, personalized business cards, sample social media posts, and much more.
Become an Ambassador– share your personal experiences with young people through career fairs, high school career days, speaking opportunities, mentorship programs, social media, video and more. Share your POP Story–you don’t have to be an official WhatIsPOP Ambassador to spread the word about the career you love. Tell friends, family and any people you meet about POP, or like and repost POP content on social media.
For these resources, more information or to contact us about becoming an Ambassador, please visit our Career Awareness page.
