With NCOPE's recent decision to request that CAAHEP place the pedorthic education standards on hiatus, the ABC Board of Directors voted to step in and create new standards for pedorthic pre-certification courses. This will ensure the pedorthic profession continues to have a pathway to ABC certification.

A task force of pedorthic subject matter experts will meet in the coming months to draft course standards and curriculum requirements. They expect to complete their work later this year.

We look forward to creating the standards necessary for pre-certification course providers to continue offering pedorthic education and for individuals to become certified. Additional information will be available once the task force has completed their work.
