We would like to thank retiring public board member, Tony Sertick, Jr., JD, for his many years of service to the ABC Board. Tony provided an invaluable patient perspective as well as a commitment to helping ABC achieve its mission and goals. As an attorney and judge, Tony brought a passion for law. He attended seven AOPA Policy Forums during his time on the Board, traversing the grounds of Capitol Hill informing law makers about the importance of O&P care. Tony, thank you for your time and commitment to serve. The ABC Board and staff wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you again on the Hill or out in the O&P community continuing to make a difference.

Welcome, Jordan

We are excited to welcome Dr. Jordan P. Ankersen of Houston, Tex. as a new public member director for the ABC Board. Ankersen recently earned her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University. She is a member of the Houston Methodist, Rice University Center for Human Performance and a Clinical Research Engineer in the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Houston Methodist.

Ankersen’s primary research interests lie in the development of computational tools for applications in clinical biomechanics. She has experience collecting and analyzing a wide array of biomechanical data using motion capture, force platforms, EMG and other technologies. Additionally, she is experienced in study design for a wide range of applications including comparative biomechanics, orthopedic biomechanics and sport biomechanics.

“With Jordan’s many accolades and strong background in clinical biomechanics, she brings a new and unique viewpoint to our Board,” stated ABC’s Executive Director, Cathy Carter. “We look forward to introducing Jordan to our O,P&P family and benefiting from her valuable input.”
