ABC President Brett Saunders, CPO, FAAOP, President-Elect Rick Babcock, CO and Public Member Tony Sertick, JD along with staff members Cathy Carter, Executive Director, Steve Fletcher, CPO, Director, Professional Credentialing and Jim Lawson, Manager, Outreach Development, joined over 100 OP&P professionals in Washington DC May 17-18 to advocate for the profession and its patients at the 2022 AOPA Policy Forum. After two years of virtual forums, attendees were excited to be back in-person.
The two-day event focused on support for proposed policy changes to the Medicare O&P Patient-Centered Care Act and the importance of these changes for the profession and patients. Attendees also learned about the different dynamics at play in Congress, where healthcare fits into those dynamics and how O&P fits into the larger healthcare context.
“It was an engaging and successful two days and ABC is proud to be a sponsor of this important advocacy event,” notes Steve Fletcher, CPO.
