The ABC Board of Directors voted to eliminate the single discipline written exams for practitioner certification at their recent meeting. Beginning January 1, 2022, all new practitioner exam candidates will be required to take the combined discipline written exam. 

This will not impact any candidates who have already applied for and been approved to take a practitioner single discipline written exam. The single discipline written exams will be available to those candidates for  their entire initial eligibility period. If you wish to take either the orthotic or prosthetic single discipline written exam and haven’t applied yet, you must meet the current eligibility requirements and apply by December 31, 2021. Eligible applicants that wish to take the single discipline written exam can apply online here.
