ABC’s O&P Atlas Project Continues to Help Students

Thank you so much for providing our class with the Prosthetic and Orthotic Atlases. We cannot express our excitement and gratitude enough! These resources will help us tremendously as we further our education in becoming practitioners. Thank you again and we look forward to working with and meeting you in the future! -- University of Texas Southwestern MSPO Class of 2016

Since 2015, ABC has been providing first-year O&P master’s program students two of the most essential textbooks needed for their studies—the Atlas of Amputations and Limb Deficiencies: Surgical, Prosthetic, and Rehabilitation Principles and the Atlas of Orthoses and Assistive Devices.

As most of us know first-hand, pursuing higher education can be quite expensive. That was one main impetus behind the ABC Board of Directors’ decision to begin gifting these two texts six years ago. The Board also saw this endeavor as an investment in the future of O&P that would not only provide a tangible connection between ABC and future O&P professionals but also an opportunity to assist students with the cost of two important career-long resources, helping guide them through their studies, residencies and professional journey.

“The profession benefits from having students and residents with adequate resources not only for school, research and residency projects, but also a reference they can use throughout their career,” notes Tony Ward, CPO, ABC Board President.

ABC hopes to continue to provide atlases to O&P master’s program students and support those that have chosen such an inspiring and rewarding career.
