ABC Welcomes Two New Board Members: Retires Two

ABC is excited to welcome two new members to its board of directors following the retirement of two members on November 30th. Those members who joined the board December 1st were Kevin Hill, CPO and Mark Rodriguez, CPO. At its September 24th meeting in San Diego, the ABC Board of Directors confirmed these appointments and also bid farewell to previous past presidents Christopher J. Fairman, CPO and Deborah Merritt Plescia, CPO.

Kevin Hill, CPO of Ardmore, Okla. has over 30 years’ experience in the O&P profession with six years of volunteer service to ABC as a Prosthetic Clinical Patient Management (CPM) Examiner. Hill received his Bachelor of Science, Orthotics and Prosthetics from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and earned his Certified Orthotist credential from ABC in 1989, followed by his Certified Prosthetist credential in 1990. He is currently the Director of Compliance, Patient Care for Hanger, Inc. where he serves as a first line resource to operational leadership for clinic compliance issues, compliance management, analytics and clinical training, including a specific Clinical Documentation Improvement training for clinicians that he designed and developed.

Mark Rodriguez, CPO of Duarte, Calif. began volunteering with ABC in 2007 as an Orthotic Clinical Patient Management (CPM) Examiner. Rodriguez graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1993, he earned his orthotics certificate at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center and his prosthetic certificate in 1995 from California State University Dominguez Hills. Rodriguez became an ABC Certified Orthotist in 1995, later earning his Certified Prosthetist credential in 2000 and is currently the owner of Prosthetic-Orthotic Group in Duarte, Calif. In addition to his participation in many Children’s Hospital clinics, he also provides care for California’s Children’s Services clients at several medical treatment units throughout Los Angeles. He also volunteers with Jornada, a volunteer group of rehabilitation specialists that provide orthotic, prosthetic, occupational, physical and speech therapy services to patients in Tijuana, Mexico.
