Most of us keep a close eye on important expiration dates. Things like your drivers’ license, mortgage or rent payment, maybe even your gym membership. Make sure you're not leaving your facility's accreditation expiration off that very important list!
While keeping track of the things that need to be renewed in our personal life is important, so is renewing your facility accreditation. This means applying on time! Submitting your application late could cause a delay in getting resurveyed. We do not expediate processing for late applications and there is no guarantee that we’ll be able to conduct your survey before the expiration date. We also charge a $250 late fee and will not extend your accreditation if your application is late. Ultimately, if your accreditation expires, that means bad news for you and your business. Your facility will no longer be considered active as far as Medicare is concerned and you’ll have a gap in your accreditation.
Are you in danger of losing your accreditation?

Keeping track of these deadlines can be easy! And, to help you remember, we send several reminders leading up to your application deadline. However, the ultimate responsibility for your accreditation renewal lies with you. Being proactive and mindful of these deadlines is an important part of managing your business.
What if my application is already late? If you’ve missed the deadline or your renewal application is due June 1st, log in to your facility’s MY ABC account ASAP. Click the Begin or Review Application link under the Current Accreditation section to begin the renewal process.
Save yourself the added stress of a late application. Keep in mind that we also need several documents to be uploaded as part of your renewal, so it’s always better to start the process early rather than miss the deadline and find yourself in an uncertain or unfavorable situation.
